Educación financiera y finanzas personales: un estudio bibliométrico sobre la evolución y estructura intelectual del campo

El presente artículo tiene como objetivo analizar la producción científica relacionada con la educación financiera y las finanzas personales mediante un enfoque bibliométrico, a fin de identificar tendencias de investigación, autores y países influyentes, así como los principales ejes temáticos y vacíos de conocimiento. La metodología empleada fue la bibliometría, utilizando como fuente la base de datos Scopus, a partir de una estrategia de búsqueda aplicada en título, resumen y palabras clave. El procesamiento de metadatos se realizó con Bibliometrix (R) y la visualización de redes semánticas mediante VOSviewer. Los resultados evidencian que la investigación en el área registra sus primeros antecedentes en 1946, con un desarrollo moderado hasta 1998. A partir de ese periodo se observa un crecimiento sostenido de publicaciones, alcanzando su punto máximo en 2024 y 2025, con más de 99 documentos en revistas de alto impacto, lo que confirma la creciente relevancia académica y social del campo. Entre los autores más productivos destacan Happ, Walstad, Förster y O’Neill. Asimismo, los países con mayor producción incluyen Estados Unidos, Reino Unido, India, Canadá, Australia, China, Malasia, Indonesia, Brasil, Polonia, Perú y Corea del Sur. El análisis de coocurrencia muestra como núcleos conceptuales predominantes “financial literacy”, “finance”, “decision making” y “human”, evidenciando un enfoque centrado en el comportamiento financiero y la toma de decisiones. Se concluye que el campo presenta expansión sostenida, diversificación temática y oportunidades para fortalecer estudios comparativos, evaluaciones de impacto e intervenciones contextualizadas.
